Kona Ironman: Feed Hungry Children
Kona Ironman World Championship: Feed Hungry Children - Patty Sanders, our Redwoods Presbytery Hunger Action Enabler, is participating in the 2010 Ironman World Championship on October 9, 2010 in Kona, Hawaii. She will be swimming 2.4 miles, bicycling 112 miles, and running a full marathon 26.2 miles. What keeps her going? Knowing that each stroke, pedal and step helps hungry children. Contributions from family, friends and Presbyterians are designated for Seeds for Haiti through the Presbyterian Hunger Program and Peanut Butter for Kids in Redwoods Presbytery. T
he Presbytery of the Redwoods is a regional body of the Synod of the Pacific and the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). We are 53 congregations, 6958 congregational members, and 164 minister members. Our geographical boundaries stretch along the northern California coast from the Golden Gate Bridge to the Oregon border, including the counties of Marin, Sonoma, Napa, Solano, Lake, Mendocino, and Humboldt. We are a partnership of Christ's disciples with a variety of backgrounds, experiences and perspectives. In the midst of our diversity and differences, we respect and support one another as we carry out our individual ministries and our common mission as a presbytery. The Healthy Congregations program is available to our sessions, congregations and ministers.
